The Finnish influences on Tomb Mold have always been clear to hear. The anomaly of Demilich and the crush of Convulse remain, and they haven't managed to lose any of their brutality or depth. The album delights with a series of choppy, medium-fast riffs that are sped up or slowed down in an "emergency". The truly impressive thing about "Planetary Clairvoyance" is its quality in a genre that has long lacked originality. This is the challenge that old school death metal represents.
