Ian was the first person i met independently in Switzerland. Kind of. The point is, I didn't meet him through Laura. Sort of. I met him through a friend of Laura's. Whatever. I didn't know anything about him at the time, like the fact that he organises this rad punk rock festival called "Obenuse Fest", where he get's bands from all over the world to play. I didn't know he collected vinyl either. I also didn't know he sang in Switzerland's hardest working DIY (literally, they do EVERYTHING themselves) punk rock band called Überyou.

Five For Five With Philippe Pomschdi Rohr of Safe State / Grim Reality Records

Other than being a shipping (literally) wizard, and helping out with Road Rage, Philippe Pomschdi Rohr is in a gnarly Youth Crew band called Safe State & helps run Grim Reality Records. I'm pretty sure he also likes that last Joy Divi - i mean, Ceremony record. Each to their own, i guess. Give me "Violence, Violence" any day of the week. Still, he's a super good dude who i'm lucky enough to call a mate.

Canada has produced some amazing artists and bands. Propagandhi, Comeback Kid, Rush. Some of Misery Signals, The Fullblast, Leonard Cohen, Voivod. Must be something in the water. Canada is also responsible for Nickelback, who i can only assume didn't drink the water and instead opted for Coors Light or Pabst Blue Ribbon. One of my favourite Canadian bands, however, is Cancer Bats.

Zurich's Evelinn Trouble has been around music her whole life. Her mother is a Jazz Musician, and Evelinn grew up in the local squat scene. She's so far released four albums and three EP's in just over ten years (of which she's produced some herself), lived in London and she's worked with Sophie Hunger.

Five For Five with Tim Mehew & Kevin Leal of Get Dead

I'll be honest. The day/night i first hung out with the Get Dead crew is a bit of a blur. I remember spending a lot of the time with Russ & Sam (hi Russ, hi Sam- I miss ya buds!) #2drinkspecial connoisseur and singer, respectively. To say we partied would be doing a dis-service the the antics we got up to.
